[ARCHIVED] FREEZING TEMPERATURES = FROZEN PIPES

We have received numerous calls for frozen pipes throughout the City and wanted to share this information again as the temperatures will stay below freezing for the next few days.
It's going to be cold this weekend, so we wanted to remind all our customers to protect their pipes from freezing.
Even the littlest draft to a water meter or pipe can cause it to freeze and crack. Once the meter or pipe thaw, water will leak into the property.
We always recommend that if your water meter is in a colder spot in the property, that you open doors around it to let warm air in, especially in raised ranches where the meter is under the stairs.
The picture below is from a house in Bristol where the owners were away, pipes froze and then flooded the house.
